You can call him back on tour with Paul Simon as legendary bassist Bakithi Kumalo returns to the roots of his legacy by once again touring with Paul Simon on the Quiet Celebration Tour.
It was Simon’s Grammy Album of the Year, Graceland, that propelled Kumalo into the ranks of the bass elite with his inimitable playing on songs such as “You Can Call Me Al” with its prodigious bass instrumental break. With the release of the album Kumalo was often credited for creating a new style of bass expression.
The tour will run from Spring through Summer 2025. Kumalo will be playing through Phil Jones Bass gear that he has selected for the tour that includes the BG-450 Compact Plus and an Earbox personal monitor.
